Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Acceptance into SIUE Graduate School; must maintain a 6-12 hour course load per semester
• Evidence of sound organizational skills
• Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public 

Position Description

Under the immediate supervision of the Associate AD for Events and Facilities, the graduate assistant is primarily responsible in assisting all areas of operation for the Athletics' Event Management and Facilities. The individual will assist the Events and Facilities staff members and other staff members in Intercollegiate Athletics with planning, coordinating, and implementing programs and services and other duties as assigned. The graduate assistant with work closely with coaches and the marketing department on daily operations and events within athletics. The GA will also work with other campus departments such as Facilities Management, Campus Recreation, Police and Parking Services. Additional duties consistent with the Department’s goals and mission will also be assigned.
The graduate assistant in this position will develop skills in human relations, supervision skills, public presentations, and communication and documentation skills. Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events and comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
